The stand of the tide
12 February 2016

The stand of the tide is a study of in-betweens. Light breaks, and then it fades; tides rise before they can fall. Jurich-Weston captures the places we visit over and over in our lives – the sites of recurring stasis, the feeling of home – ritualized spaces so loaded and personal they can disappear into the background. Singular moments unfold across minutes, meditatively stretched across time and yet detached from our reality. As movement distorts and disorients, reveals and conceals, we are invited to reconsider the everyday, and to get lost in the unknown.
