Room
25 February 2016
A collectively defined psychic space which straddles the relationship between form and function, craft and domesticity, Room is also the physical gesture of art as imperfection, a concept infrequently explored in today's art market. Erected as a self-contained unit, an entryway is hand cut from the fabric only moments before its reception, remaining open to the public until sewn shut and disassembled.
After its debut within the diverse community of San Francisco's Mission district, the piece will travel to rural Colorado where its second incarnation will continue to house and inscribe the mapping of memory, existing as a nomadic vessel of ever-shifting transformation.
